Youth constitute more than one-fourth of the population in the age group of 18-35 years in India (National Youth Policy-2014). More than fifty percentages of them are in need and at risk. Every youth have their own inner potentials and skills which need to be channelized in the right way for holistic social development. On the other hand, there are empowered and enthusiastic youth who are capable of and willing to render their support to the remaining youth population. There is a need to work in matching the available resources with the need, and to deal with the issues of the Young people and Children. The COVID-19 pandemic has created health, economic and social uncertainties to everyone particularly among young people. This uncertain situation creates a need for rebuilding resilience of young people to overcome the challenges. Engaging young people in local youth and community development initiatives will help them to explore themselves to contribute to larger social impact. Harvesting Youth Leadership 2021 (HYL) will be a platform to sensitize, inspire and encourage the young participants to work for the development of Youth and Children in Puducherry and Tamil Nadu to build their resilience capacities.

1.To build the perspective on social justice and volunteerism in gender lens

2.To build a strong resilient capacity among young people to break their social and mental barriers

3.To educate the young people on behavioural economics for social action

4.To prepare a participative strategic action plan for the year 2021
