Children are innately highly creative and innovative; they care a lot about the people and eco-systems around them and they have ideas for change. However, when there is lack of opportunity and space for their ideas, children’s creativity, initiative and innovation become diluted. In order to address this gap, TYCL initiated the Children Incubation Home (CIH) to serve as a space where children can explore their exceptional innovation for social change. The incubation home is a resource centre for children to mold their ideas into action for the wellbeing of people and the planet. The Children Incubation Home is a destination of NextGen Innovators.
Our 3-6 month incubation support program includes the following services to children of this region:
The program operates on a part-time basis. It can be an after school activity for school-going children, but school dropouts are given high priority. CIH can serve as an alternate employment opportunity and help children to develop project management skills. Currently, we are supporting three projects which were initiated by children of Baby Sarah Home, Ariyankuppam, Puducherry. Namely,
Nalam Valam (Cycle walk in the Villages) | Mr. Magesh |
Jenanam (Blood Donor Club) | Ms. Sivaranjini |
Magizhmathi (Eco-house garden) | Ms. Subalakshmi |
The above mentioned projects were launched by Children’s Incubation Houseduring the Child Leader Awards ceremony on 19th Dec, 2015 in Kamban Kalaiyarangam, Puducherry
