Youth leaning towards extremism/violence 

    • Ms. Hilaria – Recently came across News about extreme violent actions led by the youth for unreasonable situations frequently. Thought to discuss this in the common forum.
    • Mr. Gokul – Politicians provoking many youth to take extreme actions for their party/individual’s benefits. 
    • Mr. Saravanan – The reason behind every political extremism is the foment of party/leaders benefits. Political parties using their followers unlawfully against the law. Political parties are merely prompting violence  among people to prove their some form of supremacy over belief, position, idea or course of action. 
    • Ms. Trillia – There is huge corporatism behind invoking extremism among people. People get manipulated towards severe/violent actions for the so-called frame of popularity. Meme is a powerful corporate’s tool and it’s used vitally in provoking youth, children and even adults towards indictable movement.
  • Mr. Suresh – Case 1. Self extremism is not the result of a single unfavourable situation rather it’s a consequence of a series of failures or discords. Case 2. Provoking extremism in others for one’s favour. These two cases are strongly desist by intellectual learning and practice.

Conclusion : Mr. Rasaiya has concluded the discussion by recapitulating the team’s points regarding the same. He added some psychological methods to abstain oneself from immoral actions before winding up the reflection session.

2.7. Isolation Center for COVID-19 patients (Mr. Rasaiya & Ms. Yazhini)

2.7.1. Review:

    • Worked on request filtration, patient’s admission, saturation check ups and doctor’s e-consultation
  • Worked on support/ verification calls for isolation center tracker

2.7.2. Benefited:

  • As of 3rd June’21, 14 people were quarantined myself in Isolation Center for COVID-19 patients

2.8. International Youth Day : (Mr. Praveen)

2.8.1. Review:

  • As per TYCL’s Board Member meet – planned to celebrate International Youth Day’21 virtually due to COVID-19

2.9.1. Review:

  • Initiated the recruitment process for the post of Counselor – Youth Helpline.  And as of 6/7/2021, we have received 19 applications.
  • Conducted personal interviews for the shortlisted candidates.
  • TYCL had its second Board Member meeting of this year on 16th June’21. Some major highlights from the meet are listed below: 
  • Decided to rebuild Puducherry Youth Helpline mobile application with the help of local developers in Pondicherry. Official contract from the development team has been approved legally and moved to IT for their review.
  • Performance appraisal for the coordinators has been done and financial increments would have been added to coordinator’s pay going forward. 
  • Based on the appraisal, a new recruitment plan has been initiated for 2 vacancies.
  • Decided to hold N’KaNa program for next 6 months.
  • Additional focus has to be given for “Rehabilitation from COVID-19” and “Economic Relief fund for Women Entrepreneurs”.
  • “Child Leader Awards” has been cancelled for this year. Instead, the team has been advised to plan “Child Rights Day Virtual Event”.
  • Received 146 applications for Counselor-Youth Helpline and 32 for Community Outreach coordinator

  • Initiated Recruitment for the post of Counselor – Youth Helpline. As of 5/6/2021 we have received 19 applications.

The new amendment in social media

  • Mr. Jugal – As our Government has released new amendments in the social media and their account holders, people should know the consequences behind the amendments and react proactively. This change directly affects one’s freedom of opinion, which is the major fundamental right of the people living in a democracy country. The New Delhi based non-governmental organisation – Internet Freedom Foundation has expressed it’s discordance.  
  • Ms. Gokul – The Ministry of External Affairs of India which is maintaining the of foreign relations has concerns about the cause of disclaiming information spreads in social media.
  • Mr. Saravanan- The main reason behind this amendment is to delve and find the originator who originates the repeated and severe violations of civic integrity policy against our Government.   
  • Mr. Suresh – Government requires monthly reporting in IT from Indian mass media by new amendment. And expounded some rules of amendment to the meet.

Conclusion : Mr. Rasaiya has concluded the discussion by summarizing the team’s points/concerns regarding the same. At last, added his view over the new amendment before winding up the reflection session.

Who all get affected by covid-19 situations(mental, economic and physical) and how?

  • Mr. Jugal – It’s very heartbreaking to know the current situation that India is going through. It’s mourning to know the daily counts of dead, affected and people in moribund on another hand it’s terribly doleful to know the situation, efforts or misery(mentally & physically) the frontline workers are facing nowadays. Morticians are working 24/7 at funeral land without any rest which is bad for their physical and mental health. People should think before doing something which causes harm to them and their surroundings.
  • Ms. Reena – Myth around vaccines plays a vital role in this crisis. People’s misconception about having vaccines, threatening our Health Department a lot. Vaccination followed by mild fever/ body pain is usual and expected effect of inoculation. Government should spread awareness to bring people out from the agitation of vaccination.  And self-restraint( from unnecessary action) is the only way to reduce the massive spread and make oneself safe. 
  • Mr. Surath – Expressed his concern on social discorded actions over the uncertainty. Raised a question on Government’s order to reopen the Sterlite Copper Plant to operate for the production of medical oxygen.  
  • Mr. Suresh & Mr. Rasaiya – Answered the question.

Importance of voting and how to choose my candidate

  • Mr. Madan – Some parties are attempting to grasp young people by promising a stable welfare post of election while another one indoctrinating a set of beliefs. My candidate : The one who is responsible 
  • Mr. Vijayakumar – Particular party’s candidate using unemployed youth for their election work with assurance of government job. My Candidate : The one who working sincerely towards people’s welfare
  • Ms. Vijayalakshmi- I could see, still parents directing their children to cast their vote towards parent’s wishes. My candidate : Altruistic social worker
  • Mr. Rasaiya – Has some set of own principles towards casting votes. My candidate :  The one who contesting/facing election with archivable motive regardless of major parties
  • Ms. Yazhini – Acquire knowledge about choosing the right candidate from wise people within my circle recently. My Candidate : The one whose social perspective is matching with me
  • Mr. Surath – Major parties directing people towards either religion or caste. They use this factor as a vital trump card. My Candidate : Irrespective of the above
  • Mr. Gokul – Election commission should allocate the election work to the appropriate/specific employees instead of using employees from other departments. And our constitution should focus on increasing monthly salaries of elected political legislatures which can pave the way to corrupt less Governance system

Alternatives for plastics 

  • Ms. Poornima – Animals are often affected by plastics
  • Mr. Jughal – Self behavioural change and Institutional resolutions has to be taken for plastic alternatives. And alternatives are available for everythings.
  • Mr. Gokul – It is majorly affecting soil and aqua life system. Packaging industries are playing major role in producing plastics
  • Mr. Saravanan – We should focus on daily usage of plastics and start to avoid and keep the practice on the same.
  • Mr. Surath – Changes in consumption should start from home and it is the only way to reduce plastic consumption
  • Ms. Priya – Plastics should be Recycled

Conclusion : Start with small changes from home, institutions, offices etc., to eradicate the veritable plastic consumption
